Oh my gosh, I'm so excited about bowling with web geeks. Tee hee.
Hey, has anyone else gained about 10lbs in a month? What is this?
Talked to Mister Daniel Abernathy this weekend, and he is now engaged! CONGRATS Daniel and Heather! Now on the plate: Daniel, Elizabeth, and Stephanie. I keep tellin you guys Baha'i engagements are only 3 months, so it's very likely I could be married before all of you. Yeah you better look out!
Mom and I had fun fun tromping around this weekend. Highlights: Stephanie and Phil, shopping on Michigan Ave, freezing to death after eating the best Persian food ever, VanGogh/Gaugainagain (like that?), more shopping on Michigan Ave, and being Martha Stewart with mom :) Tonight Allan and Diane are coming up to ye olde chi-town, and maybe even MRM!! I'm *so* excited. Anyways, pictures:

Oh holy cow sorry dialup people, there are a million pictures on this page (sorry mike). But for those of you on broadband...enjoy!
From the desk of Mojan Sami, entitled "Switchbored Chronicles:"

Someone please stop me from eating Christmas candy. Please. Dear goodness.
And now for something completely different: verticals!

I can't stop rocking out to Smashing Pumpkins. Got the "new" Rotten Apples/Judas0 cds, and yeah, they're awesome. All of the unreleased tracks are great--"untitled" and "here's to the atom bomb" are my favorites. Mmm. I think I'd like to be a professional SP fan. Can I do that?
1/3 decaf, 1/3 regular, 1/3 water: I hope this isn't a personality test of some kind.
So I know you all ran out and bought a copy of the Times on Sunday; the Baha'is had a full page in the front section, or more specifically, a statement from the NSA on the spiritual destiny of America. And all week long we are running ads on nytimes.com. Today it's on the national section front. Cool :)
Highlights of my trip to TN:

MRM and I camming it up...

Aireline @ Exit/In...

Jessica, Miss Crayonbox, and MRM...

At peace...

Gavin (my bro)...

"I've got a fang," featuring Allan and Gav...

Dad and Sam the cat. The end.
I'm back. Pictures in a sec. Sorry for the d-lay...stupid hacker crackers.
I thought this morning that I should contract myself out as a professional christmas package-wrapper, and then I thought it's a little late for that. Oh well.
And when I found out Liz was engaged to Peter [last week], I was very excited. But for some reason it didn't hit me that it would have to be planned...or planned so early. Or it's not really early, but it seems early. I've been asked to do the annoucements, cards, programs...so it's finally my chance to be Martha Stewart. Muaha! I love this stuff. Still, looking at Vera Wang at Barnes and Noble tonight with MRM and Liz...made it all sorta grown-up. It makes me also realize that this is no group of temporary friends--this is for real, they are to stay. I'll be sad to leave them yet again, but happy to know that in a year, we'll all be here again, picking up right where we left off. Gotta love that.
Sup from Nashvegas! Yeah you know I just saw you at Aireline's show at the E/I. Yeah you know I'm going to post pictures of you when I get back. Hehe. But in all honesty, it was a bit of the twilight zone tonight..I don't think I've seen so many people from high school in one place in a loooong time. It was good to see everyone though. It's funny, but so many of us have websites, and so many of us still hang out with our respective folks, that it doesn't seem like there's so terribly much catching up to do. I just end up feeling extremely boring, because all of my good adventures end up on here. Isn't that just the way?
I'm off to Nashville this afternoon, so no pictures for a few days. Sorry! When I get back, I shall have many, many pictures. Also, my mom is coming back to Chicago for a little visit with me on the 26th. Yay! I'll be making a few posts from home, but probably not many because I want to focus on the fam. So happy holidays everyone! And I'll see a few of you this weekend I'm sure :)

Christina, the diva, at the Man In Gray private show last week. Bet.
Yeah, so I saw Lord o' the Rings last night. Yeah, it was a fantastical cinematic experience. Yeah, I had to pick my jaw up off the floor halfway through the movie, with it's amazing sound (a definite surround-sound bass explosion of an experience), beautiful cg, and very convincing acting. It's fantasy folks; it's non-committal, it's pure eye candy, and it's definetly worth 8 bucks.
Is it so wierd to wear a skirt with pants? People around here seem to think so. Girls seem to think it's cool, but men? Well I won't even share my sentiments about why I think men comment on it. Hmph.
If you love me, you will buy a New York Times on Sunday. The Baha'is have purchased a FULL PAGE in the first section!. And if you go to the website around that same time, you might see a banner ad created by yours truly. MMMhm, that's right! Go Baha'is!
Bethy has a new so-fresh-and-so-clean layout. Werd.
Fewness of words and abundance of deeds...this my motto of the day.

MRM is back, with a freshly-borrowed website. Go girl! Way to use those web resources! Heheheh...but yes, yay! I'm so glad you're back. Whee!

NYC was amazing *yet again*...I think it will always be a good escape place for me. Bryan was super hospitable and provided me with endless entertainment. Mike was actually feeling better by yesterday...TWO HOURS before I was supposed to leave (yeah, good timing!). Rion, Simon--I wish you guys could have been here, too! But now, I think I should expect some visitors to Chicago, eh? (hint hint...)
Ah, last day in NYC. I hope you all peeped our commemorative splash at Collab. Do I really need to say how much fun I'm having? Nah. Last night we polished off a pint of Festivus after chillin with Christina & co. So tonight I fly back to Chicago, and return to my life. It was a nice vacation, though... :)

We're all over the place. Sorry dialup folks.
Everybody tell Mike to get over the flu so he can come out and play with us. We have much tourism to accomplish.

I'm here. Bryan is the cutest. Now we're gonna go out. More later.
Okay. Today has been insane. But I am finally ready to go to nyc in the morning. Wahoo! I'll probably be blogging from there, so I won't be disappearing. See you there!
I love how there's a nutrition section on Dunkin Donuts' website.

I am slowly but surely falling in love with Christmas in this city. I'm not even supposed to celebrate Christmas, but you know what? It's just too beautiful to not observe in some way. Can't wait to see the lights in NYC....mm...

Bored at my desk, waiting for the network to be restored. Why not take a picture?
Ah, nothing finishes up a Janet Jackson ditty quite like Propaghandi. I love my random mp3s.
Hey Bryan, do you think we'll see any famous people this time? I mean, someone besides Ben Stein and LL Cool J?
So, I'm told with all this crazy cold weather I should be expecting here in Chicago I'm going to need a new coat. I just bought a peacoat before I moved here, and people laugh at me, telling me I'll still freeze to death. So to remedy this situation, I visited Lands' End to check out their down. What I found was a super-nifty virtual model thing when "trying on" this coat. It will save my settings for when I come back next time, even. My question is, what do YOU think about this coat? I think it looks kinda cool, but I want to take a poll to make sure I won't look silly at the L stop in this thing.

Ooooo lookie! Fleming & John have some holiday mp3s up on their site! Go download Carol of the Bells and Winter Wonderland/Misty Mountain Hop. The songs are much cooler than the names lead on.
Yeah sorry the site was down for a while. Dreamhost was having some issues.
Robbie get the java cookie this time for sending me this:

Haha, Mike's got a new couch cam. Bryan seems to think interesting things will be afoot this weekend. We'll uh...see about that. (get it? SEE? ...okay well I think I'm funny)

Well here I am, listening to the loudest, scratchiest Smashing Pumpkins music I could possibly hear at 9:15 in the morning, and I get a call asking me to read [a prayer or some writings] before the NSA breakfast on Friday. We are having 28 LSA members from all over the country visit the office on Friday. I have to have a headstone design for Patricia Locke done on Friday, because her son is coming to get it. I have a fundraiser Friday night which I am organizing. Friday. Saturday morning at 8:15 I fly to NYC. That means I'll be looking at O'Hare before sunrise (yet again). I think I'll just not sleep between now and then, eh?
Some of you might be laughing and hitting reload as I mess up my style sheets. Thanks alot. It's all for your entertainment. I actually had the brilliant idea earlier of changing the img tag to giving a black dotted line border on any image. Little did I know things OTHER than my photos are images. Yeah. Well it's 5:30 in the afternoon, I guess I'm allowed a little bit of...uh...stupidity.

I went to a beginning Flash seminar this morning in Chicago. It was helpful, I guess. It was nice to have a change of scenery, in any case. It also made me realize how dominated by men the web really is. I would say about 80% of the folks there were men. Interesting.
Song of the day: Here's To the Atom Bomb, by The Smashing Pumpkins. Even better, it's one of those new free bsides. Oh yeah.
Support Breasts, Not Dictators: I'm having trouble deciding if this article is about a barbed-wire bra ad, or a human rights issue. Or maybe it's about a hypocritical corporation. It's about time this planet started caring about everyone's rights.
More pictures from the weekend. I had too many to just post 3.

Monday morning. Coffee not working. But on the upside, I am sporting some "reptile" tights today. Heh heh heh.
Hey guess what? I'll be in NEW YORK in a week. Thank Baha'u'llah.
@ the Flamenco show...

..."Second Seed" @ the Lyon's Den...

(the money shot)

Did the Flamenco thing, then a band; did the haircut, a party, a movie (attractive people, nice soundtrack, not worth $8); then did work. Or, doing work. Pictures in a sec. Tonight is Simpsons. Right.
In the plan for the weekend: tonight, Flamenco guitar and dancing and possibly a rock show afterwards, tomorrow is party @ Andrew and Cinnamon's place after finding someone in this crazy city to cut my hair for less than $50, Sunday is work work work then Amelie with friends. Laundry will fit in there somewhere. I can't believe how much there is to do around here! I think I'm still in culture shock.
InDesign is blowing me away. I've been having ISSUES with Pagemaker and saving as a PDF, and so not only did InDesign open the pagemaker document without a problem, it saved as a PDF in about 2 seconds. AGH (frustration from yesterday)! WOO (happiness for new discovery)! UGH (I just have the trial version)!
Haha, thank michael for that last link. It's been a long week, what can I say.
I was on the phone when I came across culturama.org, so I don't really remember how I got there. But the photos are spectacular; the wit and grit behind them is very thoughtful and well put together. I liked all of them, but especially "Lexicon #2" and in general, set 3. Go peep.
I have no idea what this says, but it sure is cool. I think this is one for bkid and red.
Me = overcaffeinated. It's kindof cool and kindof frightening all at once...I hope I can get actual work accomplished like this. By the way, sorry for the lack of wordy posts, but I've been hella busy, and pictures seem to tell my life better lately than words. You guys would rather see pictures anyways :)
Sometimes I forget that Bryan's bday is the day before mine. I thought that horoscope he blogged was rather insightful. Pisces are the coolest.
I just started my last 3 posts with "oh." Ha.
OOoh lookie, now I'm on mirrorproject.com with all the other cool kids. :)
Oh good grief. Of course probably the most embarassing Real World season is up next in Chicago. From the video clip, it looks like it's going to be...well...mtv used the word "saucy." Sounds fair to me.
Oh yeah, you all probably noticed some little tweaking around here. I added a wallpaper section to allow a little more breathing room on this page. I also adjusted the bio page by a picture and a sentence. And finally, you'll notice the long-awaited highly-anticipated chicagoblogger list there on the right. Bet you didn't think there were that many chicagobloggers out there, did ya? Well I'll keep adding to that. Before you know it, I'll have a link list as long as Bryan's. :)
17 Diet Coke cans and counting. When did I start again?
Muah! My name is not on the Top 100 names of 2001 list, unlike everyone else I know (not to be cocky...am I ever cocky?). Even my brother Gavin, who I thought had an unusual name, is on there. Just a comment: I gotta give props to mom and dad for picking cool names. Lacey Jeanette and Gavin Marshall. Aw.

I am consistently impressed with Rich's photography. Just thought I'd give credit where credit is due. Nice work!
